Baja California Mini-reunion

Hello ’55 Family,

First, thanks to all who made suggestions for our next minireunion.  There were lots of places mentioned but the one that seemed to appeal to enough of us was the Sea of Cortez and the Baja California peninsula in Mexico.  We will go there with UnCruise Adventures, embarking March 3, 2018.  UnCruise was our cruise company for the Columbia and Snake Rivers trip in 2016 and met with universal approbation.

The attachment will give you an idea of the trip, prices and the ship configuration.  The ship carries 84 passengers and UnCruise will hold 16 cabins for us until December. If it looks like there will be more of us, they will probably increase that. Being a group gives us a discount on the price, and those who have been UnCruise clients in the past get an additional discount. More information is on the way to all class members via snail-mail.

To book, call Linda at 855-575-9358. The group reservations hours are 10 AM- 7 PM Eastern time. The office is in Seattle. Be sure to tell Linda, or Astrid, who also answers that phone, that you are with Princeton ’55. The UnCruise general number is 888-862-888; they will direct you to the right office should there be a problem.

To allow time to make your connection for transfer to and from the ship, book your flight into Los Cabos, MX to arrive before 2:30 PM on March  3 and to depart from Los Cabos after 1:30 PM on March 10.

The more I read and hear about the region and its wildlife, the more eager I am to get there. Our Hip, hip, ole might not seem foreign there.

Janurary 9, 2018   Update

Hello All,

It’s hard to believe that it’s 2018 already and that our cruise is less than two months off. The addresses on this email will tell you who your companions will be.  We have had a couple of cancellations and, unfortunately, some others who wanted to come had to reconsider because of health matters.  One more couple is considering joining as this is being written.

Nancy and I are arriving at the hotel, Barceló Gran Faro Los Cabos, on March 2nd, as are some of you I know.  I am looking into a dinner for those of us who will be staying there and would like to know who else (besides us and the Evanses) will be doing so. The hotel does not have a private room and I am trying to figure out another venue.  Have any of you any knowledge of the area or restaurants nearby?

If any of you plan to stay at the hotel but haven’t yet made reservations, the price quoted to book through UnCruise is considerably higher than booking directly or through Orbitz or another booking online site. Their price includes transport from the airport, however.

We are looking forward to what should be an exciting and different kind of class trip.
