Class Dues
August 2010
Dear '55 Classmates,
As many of you have already noted with pride, our class smashed the prior 55th Reunion record of 156 attendees; 180 of our classmates enjoyed the best reunion ever. For fiscal year 2009-10, we also set a new dues participation record of 62.5%. In adition to the 376 classmates who paid dues, 14 widows and two honorary classmates contributed. As the result ot the unfavorable national economy, gifts to the Class of 1955 Foundation fell 35% short of the prior year. Your executive committee is pleased to announce that dues for ths year will remain $55.00, unchanged for the past 10 years. Remember that your class dues and the Class of 1955 Foundation gift are fully tax deductable. Using the dues card, they may be paid by check or major credit card.
Class dues are necessary to pay for Princeton Alumni Weekly subscriptions for all classmates, honorary classmates and widows. This is our major expense and I have paid $7,717.64.00 this summer. Other expenses include the printing and mailing of class correspondence, Alumni Council dues, maintaining our class web-site, class awards and off-year reunion site sharing charges. Some activities are self-supporting and are not paid from class dues. These include PP55 (an independent organization), the Class of 1955 Foundation, Annual Giving, major reunions, receptions, dinners, mini reunions and trips.
Dues notices are mailed early in September along with the President's letter, mid November and mid February. I try to avoid sending follow up notices to those who have already responded. When the system breaks down and someone gives twice, I will return the duplicate payment. If you have misplaced your dues card or the return envelope, you can send your check to:
