60th Class Reunion
May 28 - 31, 2015

Fine weather, new attendance record set (141), superb food, best ever undergraduate crew, all glitches inconsequential, unofficially judged "best reunion" by associate director Alumni Association for Class Affairs and ending with delightful lake side brunch at the boat house --- it exceeded the Reunion Committee's fondest hopes! Secretary John Perkin's PAW Class Notes provide a more fulsome description.

Alumni Day-100th Anniversary
Feb. 21, 2015

Over a snowy weekend on February 20 and 21, over 1,000 alumni returned to campus to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Alumni Day. This year featured an extended program, with alumni arriving on Friday for preliminary sessions featuring "Women in the Eating Clubs" and "Academic Intersections: Princeton on Language" - an interdisciplinary event that highlighted different academic and creative perspectives on the concept of language from multiple students and faculty members. This was followed by a well attended reception in the atrium of the handsome new Frick chemistry building.
At the Alumni Day Luncheon in Jadwin Gym on Saturday, this year's Woodrow Wilson Award was presented to Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan (former Lisa Najeeb Halaby '73). The James Madison Medal went to Martin Eakes *80. The always moving Service of Remembrance at University Chapel took place at 3:00 PM. This year we sadly said a final farewell to 26 classmates.
The Class Mid-winter Dinner was held at the Springdale Golf Club. After a lively cocktail hour, 55 classmates, spouses, class widows and significant others enjoyed a delicious buffet. Before starting dinner, all observed moment of silence in remembrance of classmates who died during the past year. Over desert, Herb Kaufmann took to the podium to introduce this year's recipient of Class Distinguished Achievement Award, Dr. Robert J. Ruben MD. Professor and Chairman Emeritus of the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Montefiore Medical Center. His special interest and research in pediatric hearing problems resulted in the establishment of the National Institute for Deafness and other Communication Disorders as part of the NIH. A bibliophile, he also found time to serve as Chairman of the Friends of Princeton University Library where he donated his collection of Artist books. Click here to see a list of the 46 attendees.
